Our airport Representative will meet and assist upon arrival at the airport where a special welcome awaits there.Later transfer to the Hotel by air-conditioned vehicle. Upon arrival check into the Hotel.Evening learn about Kerala's fascinating art from,Kathakali( Witness the artist's make-up demonstration at 17.15 hours and attend the dance performance at 19.00 hours .Dance drama ends at 200hrs )Return to your hotel for an overnight's stay.

Full day Sightseeing -This morning tour the city visiting the Mattancherry Palace the nearby merchant houses and a fine synagogue. Also visit the ancient Mattancherry (Dutch) Palace built by the Portuguese in 1557. This palace was presented to the ruler of Cochin as a gesture of goodwill. The Palace's alternative name " Dutch Palace " resulted from substantial renovations by the Dutch after 1663.. The most important feature of the palace is the astonishing murals that adorn some of the palace rooms, depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharta and Puranic legends connected with Shiva, Vishnu, Krishna , Kumara and Durga.

Another stop is made at the St. Francis Church, the oldest European built church in India . Constructed in 1503 by the Portuguese Franciscan Friars who accompanied the expedition led by Pedro Alvarez Cabral. He famed Vasco de Gama, the first European to reach India by sailing around Africa, died in Cochin in 1524 and was buried here for 14 years before his remains were transferred to Lisbon . His tombstone can be seen inside the church.

Also pay a visit to the amazing Chinese fishing nets operating on principles of physics advanced for their times.Top off the day embark your private motor boat and cruise thru the eventful history of the city and it began when a major flood in AD 1341 threw open estuary at Kochin,till then a land locked region,turning it into one of the finest natural harbours in the world. Enjoy the morning breakfast and later drive to PeriyarWild life sanctuary (195kms/ Six hours drive) Located on the Tamil Nadu & Kerala border this region is known as the Spice Village of India for its vast spice and tea gardens. The road winds through mountains, descending through a carpet of tea bushes, estates of tall rubber trees and gardens of coffee, cardamom and pepper. The pride of Kerala and a testimony to nature's splendour and human innovation, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is situated on the banks of the Periyar lake - an artificial lake, at Thekkady. Here the high ranges of the Western Ghats are clothed in dense evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savannah grasslands. Below this thick green canopy roam herds of elephants, sambars, tigers, gaurs, lion tailed macaques and Nilgiri Langurs.

On arrival check in at pre-booked hotel, freshen up and enjoy some refreshment at the comfort of your room. Later go for Gameviewing (Optional) or Elephant ride nearby plantations (Optional) Later return back on time to the hotel in Periyar for dinner and overnight stay.

After early morning breakfast at the hotel, visit to the Periyar Lake and go and experience for a Bamboo rafting (Optional) which Starting at 8 am from the boat landing, a mosaic of habitats will be traversed before the party gets into rafts made of bamboos. The rafting is for about three hours and one gets a panoramic view of forest-clad hills reflected on the lake. Animals like elephant, gaur and sambar are sighted keeping close to the edges of the lake. The team hitchhikes back to the boat landing by about 5 pm. An armed guard and 4 guides will accompany a maximum of 10 tourists. Tea, snacks and packed lunch will be served enroute. Return for Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Thakkady.

Rest of the day leisure -Marari originates from " Mararikulam " one of the local fishing villages, where life still goes on much as it did a hundred years ago, with the men going out to sea each day to earn a living bringing in the daily catch.
